Bathing Beauties

Mental note to self - don't use the store brand cookie dough to roll out. It's too hard and crumbles, next time I'll stick with Pillsbury or homemade.

That being said I did manage to get 8 sugar cookie people (could have gotten more but it was late and I was tired of fighting with the dough...). Mixed up some icing and got started.

Bathing suits seemed appropriate for the season. Here's what I ended up with. Pretty cute, I think.

Boy, someone needs to work on their tan ;-)

Finger Painting

I found this cool idea online to color cookies with food safe markers and thought my daughter would enjoy it. So I made the cookies, iced them and let her go to work. Well, a combination of the icing being too think and her pressing too hard with the markers it didn't work out too well. So now what... food coloring!

I put a drop on my finger and dabbed on a cookie to test it out - this could work. So I let Sydney try and success!

She finished up the rest of the cookies in no time (and with minimal mess!).

They are not the most beautiful cookies but she had fun decorating them. She said it was "crazy fun!"
